Common questions

Can I convert an MP4 to ASCII?

Yes. MP4, WebM and MOV inputs are decoded in your browser and converted frame by frame.

Can I export the ASCII result as MP4?

Yes when your browser supports H.264 encoding. WebM is also available as a broadly supported fallback.

Does the exported video include audio?

No. The current export contains the animated ASCII picture only, which keeps processing local and predictable.

Why is the clip limited to 10 seconds?

Video conversion renders and encodes every frame in the browser. The limit protects memory and keeps export times practical.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Video decoding, ASCII rendering and MP4 or WebM encoding all happen on this device.
